September 29th provided autumnal weather. The wind built steadily throughout the day, with 30mph+ gust tearing down the lake by lunchtime. Nevertheless, no fewer than 14 boats entered on the day (representing 8 different classes of dinghy). The conditions proved to be attritional, with only 4 boats managing to complete the final race. Roger and Mac were kept very busy in the support boat dealing with multiple capsized boats. A few boats ended up adorned with muddy weed streamers on top of their masts after capsizing into the mud bottom.
Congratulations to all who sailed, and in particular to Phil Sheppard (Solo) on winning the Cup despite being pressed hard by the Ashwell/Ristow crewed RS Vision, and to Karolina Kocurek (Comet) for winning the junior trophy after some tight racing with Eddie Bojarski (Laser Radial / ILCA6).
