Youth Sailing sessions will resume on Sunday 5th May 15:00 to 17:00 and you will not need to book in advance.
The help and cooperation of parents is essential to us being able to run this activity, and so we will have a briefing for parents and sailors at the start of the first session.
This is NOT training – it is group sailing with support, and so it will be up to parents to decide what their child can do, but on and off the water guidance and tips will be available if needed.
For those who are interested in obtaining official RYA accreditation, at the end of the season we will look to engage our new Chief Instructor – Paul- to assess whether sailors are good enough for an RYA certificate.
We want to get as many youngsters on the water as possible and we have 8 boats available, so we expect those who are able to helm to consider having as crew those who cannot.
We cannot allow more than 2 people per boat, all participants must be members and parents need to be in attendance during the sessions.
Remember buoyancy aids must be worn at all times on the water and on the jetties, and that wetsuits are advisable most of the time.
